B2B Video Marketing: The Playbook
How B2B companies use video to get found, help buyers decide and keep the customers they win. Every guide we have published, in the order I would read them.

Video Marketing for B2B Is a Habit, Not a Launch
Most B2B teams treat video as one big project: a perfect brand film that has to win the market on its own. It rarely does. Buyers on a long sales cycle need to trust you, and trust builds from seeing a clear, recognizable face explain useful things again and again.
That is the whole idea behind this playbook. Quality matters, but quality means a sharp message and a person who explains it well, not a full lighting rig on every video. The companies doing well with video are the ones teaching their buyers, week after week, in their own voice and with their own opinions.

The ones who are educating and putting out content for their audience are the ones who are thriving, because they are constantly front of mind.
Why B2B Video Marketing Matters, Even on Long Sales Cycles
B2B video marketing is using video to move business buyers from first contact to signed deal and beyond: ads and Shorts that get you found, explainers and demos that answer buying questions, and training that keeps customers. It works on long sales cycles because it does the explaining your reps would otherwise repeat on every call.
Our own numbers point the same way. Across 39 client engagements we measured, presenter-led video ran a median 4.2 times the client's own channel median. In one near-controlled case, a presenter-led video drew 3.4 times the views of a founder-presented video on the same channel in the same week.
| Finding | Number | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Median multiple of the client's own channel median | 4.2x | B2B video benchmark study |
| Presenter-led vs founder video, same channel, same week | 3.4x the views | Coinbound |
| Production savings recorded by clients | $126k | B2B video benchmark study |

Where to Start
If you read one page first, make it our overview of B2B video production. It sorts every kind of B2B video by the job it does, from attracting buyers to keeping them. Pick the stage where buyers drop off, then come back to the matching topic below.

How to Create B2B Video Content
1. Name the number. Every project we run starts with one question: what number is this video supposed to move? Booked calls, ad cost per lead, course completions. Pick one.
2. Pick the stage. Getting found needs ads and Shorts. Helping buyers decide needs explainers and a video sales letter. Keeping customers needs training.
3. Write for the ear. The script makes or breaks the video. Write it the way a person talks, one idea at a time, and settle it before anyone books a set.
4. Choose who presents. Your founder if they have the time and energy, a hired presenter if they don't. Read the spokesperson guide before you decide.
5. Film in batches and repurpose. One session can cover several scripts, and long videos cut into Shorts and ad hooks.
6. Measure against yourself. Compare each video with your own channel or campaign baseline, not with someone else's view count.

One Presenter, Three Years, an Inbound Lead Engine
Simplify LLC helps US founders form their first company. It was winning on blog search and invisible on YouTube. One presenter, a search-first script for each video and a regular cadence turned the channel into a source of inbound leads.
How Much Should a B2B Company Spend on Video?
Start from what the video has to do, not from a monthly number. A single explainer, a batch of ads and a training library are different budgets. The market ranges, and what moves a quote, are in what B2B video costs.
With us, a finished End-to-End video runs up to $4,500 for up to 20 minutes, and Premium starts at $7,500. Batching lowers the cost of each video, which is why a regular monthly plan usually costs less per video than one-off orders. How our pricing works covers the rest. If you are unsure, start with a test batch of one to three videos and measure them before you commit more.
Which Video KPIs Matter for B2B Pipeline?
Pick the measure that matches the stage. Raw views say how big an audience is. They don't say whether the video worked.
| Stage | Measure | What it tells you |
|---|---|---|
| Attract | Views against your own channel or ad baseline | Whether the video beat what you normally get |
| Attract | Cost per lead on paid video | Whether the ad pays for itself |
| Engage | Watch rate on the page | Whether buyers sit through the explanation |
| Engage | Booked calls and replies after the video | Whether it moves deals forward |
| Keep | Completion and support tickets | Whether customers and staff learn what they need |
For one example, HighGear's three-minute explainer held a 59% average watch rate on the page it was built for.
