Eighteen months dormant, in a business where credibility is the product
Crush The CPA reviews accounting exam prep courses, and trust is the whole business. The affiliate model only works if the audience trusts the reviewer, and the course brands being reviewed have to approve every video before it ships. Their YouTube channel had history but no momentum: eighteen months without an upload, and just two off-topic videos in the year before this engagement.
The brief was harder than it sounds. They needed a consistent, credible on-camera reviewer who could carry course names, exam vocabulary, and brand guidelines without sounding like an ad read, and keep showing up video after video, year after year.
One recurring reviewer, full production, and an approval loop the brands actually use
This is a full-production engagement. Scripts flow in from their team, I present, and we handle the edit through to a finished video. The wrinkle that makes it interesting is the approval chain: Becker and Gleim review the videos that cover their courses, send brand-guideline notes, and sign off before publish. That loop runs through the same revision workflow as everything else.
The relationship started with a single contract in May 2023 and has renewed continuously since. The current package of 22 videos, half of them Shorts, is in production right now, with the latest client message landing this month.
From zero uploads to 8 of the top 11 videos on the channel
The before and after is stark. Before: no uploads for eighteen months. After: every single video the channel published in the first year of this engagement was ours, and the channel has shipped continuously since.
The numbers are public YouTube data, checked 25 August 2026. Presenter-led videos from this engagement hold 8 of the top 11 all-time long-form slots on a 14-year-old channel. The #1 video, from the December 2024 batch, has 73,270 views. The Gleim CMA review reached 15,607 views in eight months, 38.8 times the channel median for its window, and sits at #6 all-time. The only older videos still ranking above ours date to 2016 and 2017 and have had years longer to accumulate views.
Affiliate conversion data stays with the client. What is public is the shape of the channel: a dormant asset turned into the front door of a review business, with the reviewed brands themselves approving the face on camera. If your model depends on a reviewer your partner brands will sign off on, that is the bar this work clears.
